Menus at The Blue Pig Wolvey

If you are looking for top quality food then look no further than The Blue Pig, Wolvey. We offer excellent menus with choice of traditional dishes cooked with flair by our kitchen team.

Wherever possible we source all ingredients from local suppliers; all of our meat comes from a local butcher and our vegetables all come from a local farm. Our chefs ensure that the majority of dishes are made to our own recipes on site. See The Blue Pig Wolvey menus in the tabs below:

To Start With: 

Soup of the Day:  A delicious crockpot of homemade soup served with crusty bread and butter. £4.95 (GF option available)


Prawn Cocktail:  The legend of a starter, with juicy north Atlantic prawns bound together in a rich Marie rose sauce, served with brown bread and butter on the side.  £6.75 (GF option available)


Pate:   A generous slice of today’s pate, served with a side salad with hot toast and butter. £5.75


Devilled Whitebait:  All the little fishes, breaded and deep fried to perfection and dusted with a hint of paprika with a side dish of tartare sauce.  £5.95


Chicken Strips:  Tender breast of chicken strips, breaded and deep fried on a bed of leaves, served with a punchy garlic dip. £5.75


Filo King Prawns:  A veritable delight, served with sweet chill dip. £5.95


Breaded Mushrooms:  Button mushrooms, breaded and baked to perfection and served on a bed of salad and a garlic and herb dip. £5.50 (Vegan)


Breaded Brie Wedges:  Deep fried triangles of breaded brie served with cranberry sauce for dipping served on a bed of leaves. £6.25 (Vegetarian)


The Main Event:

Homemade Lasagne:  Tender minced beef layered into pasta sheets and bound together in a rich béchamel sauce.  Served with salad and chunky chips plus homemade garlic bread to compliment this classic dish. £13.50


Chilli Con Carne:  Minced beef cooked with fresh green chilli and red kidney beans a hot one for sure, served with homemade garlic bread and a choice of rice or chunky chips or some of both. £12.50 (GF option available)


Hunters Chicken:  A succulent breast of chicken cooked in a rich barbeque sauce. Topped with bacon and cheddar cheese. £13.50


Cajun Chicken: A breast of chicken marinated in Cajun spices and grilled, served with a side salad and fries £13.50


Steak and Ale Pie: Tender chunks of prime beef drenched in ale and cooked until tender, then baked in the oven topped with a puff pastry lid and served with buttery mash and seasonal fresh vegetables. £13.95


Chicken and Leek Pie:  Pieces of chicken breast and sautéed leeks bound together in a rich sauce then topped with a puff pastry lid and served with buttery mash and seasonal fresh vegetables.  £13.95


Fish and Chips:  What can be said about this British classic, a generous piece of cod in a homemade rich beer batter, served with chips and mushy or garden peas. £13.95


Scampi and Chips: A pub classic; breaded wholetail scampi served with chunky chips and garden or mushy peas accompanied by a tartare sauce. £13.50
