Menus at The Blue Pig Wolvey

If you are looking for top quality food then look no further than The Blue Pig, Wolvey. We offer excellent menus with choice of traditional dishes cooked with flair by our kitchen team.

Wherever possible we source all ingredients from local suppliers; all of our meat comes from a local butcher and our vegetables all come from a local farm. Our chefs ensure that the majority of dishes are made to our own recipes on site. See The Blue Pig Wolvey menus in the tabs below:

To Start With:


Soup of the Day: A delicious crockpot of homemade soup served with crusty bread and butter. £4.95


Prawn Cocktail: The legend of a starter, with juicy north Atlantic prawns bound together in a rich marie rose sauce, served with brown bread and butter on the side. £6.50


Pate: A generous slice of today’s pate, served with a side salad with hot toast and butter. £5.50


Devilled Whitebait: All the little fishes, breaded and deep fried to perfection and dusted with a hint of paprika with a side dish of tartare sauce. £5.50


Chicken Strips: Tender breast of chicken strips, breaded and deep fried on a bed of leaves, served with a punchy garlic dip. £5.50


Filo King Prawns: A veritable delight, served with a choice of dips. £5.95


Breaded Mushrooms: Button mushrooms, breaded and baked to perfection then topped with cheddar cheese and served on a bed of salad and a garlic and herb dip. £5.25


Breaded Brie Wedges: Deep fried triangles of breaded brie served with cranberry sauce for dipping served on a bed of leaves. £5.95


The Main Event:


Homemade Lasagne: Tender minced beef layered into spinach pasta sheets and bound together in a rich béchamel sauce. Served with homemade garlic bread to compliment this classic dish. £12.50


Chilli Con Carne: Minced beef cooked with fresh green chilli and red kidney beans a hot one for sure, served with homemade garlic bread and a choice of rice or fries or some of both. £11.50


Butterfly Cajun Chicken: A breast of chicken, butterflied and marinated in the finest Cajun spices then grilled, a sumptuous and spicy delight. £11.95


Steak and Ale Pie: Tender chunks of prime beef drenched in ale and cooked until tender, then baked in the oven in a shortcrust pastry. £12.50


Chicken and Leek Pie: Tender chicken breast bound together with leeks and a delicious white sauce, then baked in the oven with a shortcrust pastry poured over with a rich gravy. £12.50


Fish Pie: Fresh market fish pieces bound together in a rich sauce and topped with the finest mashed potato and cheese topping. £12.95


Fish and Chips: What can be said about this British classic, a generous piece of cod in a rich beer batter, served with chips and mushy or garden peas. £11.95


Scampi and Chips: A pub classic, served with tartare sauce, lemon wedge and chips. £11.95


Vegetable Bake: Fresh vegetables sautéed together in a rich sauce, topped with a scrumptious herb crumb. £11.50


Vegetable Lasagne: Courgettes and Aubergines bound together in a rich tomato sauce layered into sheets of pasta, served with homemade garlic bread. £11.95


Chicken Bacon and Avocado Salad: Mixed leaves and salad ingredients together with chicken breast, maple cured bacon and sliced avocado with a spicy mayonnaise for drizzling. £11.50


Ham and Egg Salad: Succulent baked ham and free range egg on a bed of salad, served with crusty bread. £11.50


STEAKS:


All grilled to your liking and served with sautéed mushrooms a grilled tomato half and a baked onion.

BURGERS:


Homemade patties of beef or chicken fillet or a vegetable combo served in a brioche bun with all the trimmings. £8.95


All main courses are served with a selection of seasonal fresh vegetables or salad, and a potato dish of either fries, jacket potato or mash. Rice is available where appropriate.
