Our beautiful and historic pub in Wolvey has great pub food to eat in and takeaway and is now fully open with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and customers safe. The pub has a lovely garden for those warm days and two log fires for the chilly nights. Wolvey is a charming village and the people of Wolvey have offered us a very warm welcome.
The Blue Pig at Wolvey is a wonderful 600 year old, Grade 2 listed pub where we offer fine ale, lager, food, and wine. We prepare our delicious pub food from our own recipes. So why not come and enjoy the variety, quality and choice that all our menus offer. The meats that we use have all been selected from a local butcher. The wine list is varied and has been carefully selected to compliment our menus. However, a good country pub needs its fine ales and this pub is no exception. We pride ourselves in keeping quality real ales and look to offer a choice that suits all palates.

A new-look pub just nine miles from Coventry has been praised for serving the ‘best Sunday dinner in the area’. The Blue Pig pub just over the border into Wolvey has been given a £115,000 ‘summer’ makeover.
Its new look, which includes a revamped garden area, has caught the eye of CoventryLive readers, some saying they ‘need to visit’. Others who have been before have praised the new-look.
There are also Blue Pig regulars who have said that the ‘amazing’ place has been made even better following the improvement at the pub, which has been operated independently by David Hood since 2021.
Reader Jackie Barden posted on the CoventryLive page on Facebook: “Amazing place well done guys it looks fab! We love it there. Great job” while Craig Melvin posted: “Was looking tired couple of months ago – fair play.”
Helen Power sang the praises of the pub’s food, saying: “Best roast dinner in the whole area yummy,” while Emma Burgess said: “It looks great.”
Coventry pub reopens with new beer garden after summer upgrade
A Coventry pub has announced its reopening after a major upgrade. The Blue Pig pub in Wolvey has undergone a £115,000 transformation.
The investment has been used to upgrade the pub ready for the summer. Renovation work includes a revamped garden area, alongside other updates made externally.
The pub prides itself in producing home-cooked pub food using local suppliers. Popular dishes at the pub include Faggots, Fish and Chips, Cauliflower Wings and more. With the investment and upgrades, David said he is looking forward to hosting customers this summer.
